North East Medical Services (NEMS) is a non-profit community health center serving the medically underserved population of the San Francisco Bay Area.

NEMS is committed to providing affordable, comprehensive, compassionate, and quality health care services in a linguistically competent and culturally sensitive manner to improve the health and well-being of our community. For more than 50 years, NEMS has grown from a small primary care clinic to a large, comprehensive health care organization, serving over 250,000 people since its creation.

In 2002, NEMS formed a Management Services Organization (MSO) to provide medical management services for Medi-Cal and Medicare members enrolled in a managed care plan and selected a NEMS network.

Through the NEMS MSO provider network, our members may access care from the Bay Area’s highly skilled primary care physicians and specialty care physicians. In addition to providing accessible health care to the San Francisco Bay Area citizens, the NEMS Care Coordination team works behind the scenes to assist members with navigating through the healthcare system. The Care Coordination team works to coordinate care between a member’s doctors, hospitals, pharmacy, community resources, medical transportation, interpretation, and more.
