Interpretation Service

INTERPRETATION SERVICES

NEMS discourages the use of friends, family members, or minors as interpreters. Professional interpretation services are offered by NEMS to members at no cost.

Telephone interpreters are available in over 100 languages for immediate needs.

Requests for in-person interpreters, including sign language interpreters, should be submitted at least 5 business days prior to the appointment during regular business hours.

Interpretation services may also be requested by completing the request form below or by calling NEMS Provider Relations at 415-352-5186 during regular business hours.

If calling for interpretation services, please have the following information ready:

  1. Member’s plan ID number
  2. Language needed
  3. Appointment date, time, and place
